National Pan-Hellenic Council

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is a collaborative organization for the nine historically African-American international Greek letter organizations, often referred to as the Divine Nine.
NPHC emphasizes a lifelong commitment to the goals and ideals of each of its respective organizations, focusing on community awareness and action through educational, economic, and cultural service activities.
Individuals who are interested in an organization should thoroughly research to understand its history, values, and community impact. They should also attend informational sessions, service events, and campus programs hosted by the NPHC or its member organizations to learn more and demonstrate genuine interest.
Additionally, interested individuals should:
- Maintain strong academic performance, as each organization has GPA requirements.
- Exhibit leadership, character, and a commitment to service—core values that are foundational to NPHC organizations.
- Build authentic relationships with current members to gain insight into chapter culture and expectations.
- Follow all university and organizational intake processes and guidelines, including meeting eligibility criteria and respecting timelines.
Most importantly, prospective members should ensure that their desire to join aligns with their personal values and long-term goals of community uplift and service.
