Mission: It is the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. Our goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development. Our members, affiliates, staff, and community partners work to create and support initiatives that align with our vision.

Founded:  November 12, 1922, at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN.

Chapter Philanthropies: Every year, the Kappa Psi chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. dedicates the month of October and March to raising and sponsoring cancer survivors at the VCU Massey Cancer Center and women of domestic violence at the NRV Womens' Center. 

Community Service Hours in 2018-2019: 150 (Average of 37.5 per member)

Greatest Accomplishment of 2018-2019: We are extremely proud of creating the L.E.A.P. (Leaders Engaging Academic Peers) community mentor program dedicated to strengthening the Black VT community as well as increasing the retention rates among black students. We aspire to aid the underclassmen in our community in navigating the university and look to provide them with guidance and fellowship.
