Eta Tau Chapter

LTA group portrait

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. is the first and largest intercollegiate Latina-based sorority.

Since its founding in 1975, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. has evolved into a trailblazing leader within the fraternal community while remaining deeply rooted in its Founders’ mission: to establish a sisterhood grounded in unity, love, and respect, while empowering Latinas in higher education. Guided by the motto, “Latin by tradition, not by definition,” Lambda Theta Alpha is a non-exclusionary organization that welcomes women of all backgrounds who are committed to scholarship, service, leadership, and cultural empowerment. Through its dedication to education, personal and professional development, and community activism, Lambda Theta Alpha continues to cultivate independent, visionary women who strive for excellence and social change.

The Eta Tau Chapter at Virginia Tech, founded on April 25, 2026, proudly carries forward this legacy by creating opportunities for sisterhood, advocacy, and leadership within the Hokie community.
