Jack Sunderman (he/him) supports the Fraternity & Sorority Life community by developing and implementing health, safety, and wellness initiatives that educate and engage students across all councils. Jack also supports the Oak Lane House Supervisors and serves as a chapter coach to a portfolio of fraternities and sororities across all four councils.
Jack grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska where he earned his B.S. in Secondary Science Education from the University of Nebraska, and his M. Ed. from Doane University. He taught 8th grade science, coached cross country, track, boys and girls basketball, and science bowl at Lux Middle School in Lincoln for 5 years before moving to Blacksburg with his wife, Hannah.
Jack then taught high school chemistry and AP chemistry at Radford high school for one year after moving to Virginia. Next, he worked for a start up company in the sports tech industry for one year. After that, Jack began to pursue a career in dietetics and started taking prerequisite classes for the Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics program at VT. He’ll start the program in the fall.
Outside of work Jack loves to stay active - lifting weights, running, walking, golfing, playing basketball, and more! He also loves planning trips and traveling. Finally, and most importantly, he loves Nebraska Cornhusker sports! If they’re on tv, no matter the sport, Jack is probably watching or recording to watch later!
