Brian Armstrong serves as the Residential Learning Coordinator for the Oak Lane Community. Brian is originally from Norfolk, Virginia and received his bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University. He earned a master of arts in education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Virginia Tech. Brian has been a proud Hokie since 2014 and, prior to working for Housing and Residence Life, he was graduate assistant for student organizations with Student Engagement and Campus Life.
Brian is passionate about ensuring that college students are supported and cared for during the transformative whirlwind of undergraduate education. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, movies, shopping and being in the company of amazing people enjoying amazing conversation.
Brian's favorite Aspiration for Student Learning is Commit to Unwavering Curiosity because he has a curious nature and always wants to know more. Curiosity is what creates the cycle of lifelong learning.
